About This Spot

Stepping into Hickman Bar & Grill feels like slipping into a well-loved neighborhood gathering spot, where the pace is comfortably unhurried and the atmosphere invites easy conversation. Situated just off Locust Street, this bar and grill strikes a balance between casual familiarity and an everyday sense of occasion—perfect for catching up with friends or unwinding after a long day.

The space carries a warmth that extends beyond its wood-accented walls and modest lighting, with a friendly hum that suggests regulars and newcomers alike feel right at home. Whether you find yourself nestled indoors or enjoying the open-air beer garden, there’s a relaxed rhythm accented by live music on weekends, adding a lively but never overwhelming backdrop to the experience.

The menu here is a nod to comforting, hearty fare with a local twist. It’s less about fine dining and more about dishes that feel thoughtfully made and generously served—ideal for sharing or enjoying as a satisfying solo treat. From crispy tater tots that pair perfectly with a refreshing cc & Coke, to specialty pizzas that invite curiosity and conversation, the food complements the unpretentious vibe of the place. Classic bar staples mingle with creative takes like the Garbage Pizza or the spicy jalapeño poppers, making each visit feel like a chance to discover a new favorite.

Portions are generous, often prompting a shared approach to the meal, and there’s something to be said for the proud simplicity of a well-crafted cheeseburger or a hearty Philly cheese steak. The side of sweet potato fries, in particular, stands as a charming surprise—crispy, sweet, and just a little indulgent.

What truly shapes the spirit of Hickman Bar & Grill is its atmosphere—one where genuine service meets approachable food, and where the guests contribute as much to the feeling as the venue itself. It’s easy to linger here, to soak in the community’s quiet energy, and return feeling a little more connected to place and people.

Good priced drinks, great food specials! Try the sweet potato fries! There was live music in the beer garden and he was absolutely phenomenal! We can’t wait to go back !

Food is always good, but seems pretty expensive for the portions we received. $12 for 8 chicken drummies and $12 for a “large” order of cheeseballs is a bit much given what we received in a takeout order. Hopefully it was just a one-off situation because I like the place but it doesn’t feel like much food for the money.

The Santa Fe salad exceeded expectations, it was also exceptionally huge! The service is also great, we love coming here.

This was our first visit, and likely last not because it is bad but just better options without the drive. The food was above average, though nothing particularly fancy or special. We shared a few appetizers, and the standout was definitely the jalapeno cream cheese poppers. The burgers were good with plenty of options, though they tend to be on the spicy side. The only real downside was the younger bartender, who had a moody attitude and a foul mouth. However, for a small town, I suppose there's not always much help to choose from.
